About Logic

Our Mission

Why do cars cost less per ft2 than site-built kitchens? Why can’t we manufacture (and buy) housing components like we do automobiles? We believe the way we build is 100 years old, and the answers to these questions are the key to solving America’s affordable housing problems.

At Logic, we are organizing the interfaces between all the next-generation products needed for 21st C. construction. Like mounting a dashboard and seats to a car chassis, our interfaces simplify how we assemble industrialized construction components into buildings. This means we can order things like kitchen and bathroom pods at wholesale prices, and help builders install them in a flash.

We’ve learned from how USBs organized the computer peripherals marketplace… by simplifying (host) laptops, we saw an explosion of new peripherals like memory sticks and smartphones. This exciting. Logic’s platform captures the same plug-and-play interoperability… making the design and assembly of homes as simple as buying a car.

This is just the start. We’re inspired by the positive impact systems thinking can reduce construction toil, and how simplicity can make a better economic engine.

Leadership Team

Jason Van Nest

Jason is an architect, educator, and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience designing housing in architecture firms based in New York, New Haven, Atlanta, and Key West. He’s spent more than half a decade advising modular firms serving the hospitality space. That experience at the intersection of manufacturing and building was the basis of a feasibility study informing the charter the Center for Offsite Construction at New York Tech‘s School of Architecture. At NY Tech, he holds tenure as an Associate Professor of Architecture and is President of the Academic Senate.

“I’m excited to build Logic because the need to bring efficiency to US homebuilding has never been more urgent. Real estate developers, builders, and designers don’t want to be hampered by our 100-year-old way of building housing. We can build faster, cleaner, and at lower cost – making everyone a community hero.”

Temple Peterson

Co-Founder & Director of Operations at Logic Building Solutions, Temple brings a multidisciplinary career shaped by craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and clinical training. Over four decades, his work has spanned the New York independent music scene as a session drummer, historic preservation and finish carpentry in Rhode Island, independent residential craftsmanship in Vermont, and nearly a decade as a restaurant co-owner and operator. He also completed graduate work in applied psychology, earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and spent nearly two years working in an inpatient addiction treatment setting. Across these diverse roles runs a consistent throughline: a commitment to mastery and a systems-level curiosity about how people, materials, and processes can be organized to produce better, more resilient outcomes.

At Logic Building Solutions, he applies this integrated perspective to the challenge of affordable housing. The company is developing a configured-to-order modular construction system that replaces fragmented, site-built workflows with precision-manufactured, fully fitted pods. As Director of Operations, he leads hands-on prototype development, translating real-world construction experience into scalable manufacturing logic. His work bridges the gap between design and execution, refining installation systems, documenting processes for digital modeling, and helping shape a supply chain capable of delivering faster, more predictable, and higher-quality building outcomes.

His background in historic preservation and fine carpentry informs a deep understanding of materials, tolerances, and building systems, while his experience as a business owner sharpened his operational and leadership skills. Complementing this, his clinical work in addiction treatment brings a human-centered dimension to his leadership, grounded in empathy, communication, and the ability to navigate complexity under pressure. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, maintaining an ongoing interest in the intersection of built environments, systems design, and human well-being.

David J Koster

David J. Koster is a seasoned real estate developer and the President of Good Developments Group, bringing over a decade of expertise in managing high-profile projects across the United States. His delivery portfolio includes leadership roles in transformative developments like The Brooklyn Tower at 9 DeKalb Avenue and Monad Terrace in Miami Beach. With a background in engineering and business, David thrives on tackling complex technical challenges, merging innovative problem-solving with practical execution. His passion for rethinking traditional construction methods aligns with Logic Building Systems’ vision of revolutionizing modular design. David’s commitment to sustainable, forward-thinking development makes him an invaluable part of the Logic team.

“Joining Logic is an opportunity to solve the technical and logistical challenges that have long hindered real estate development. By streamlining modular solutions, we can deliver projects faster and more efficiently, empowering developers to create vibrant, sustainable communities that redefine what’s possible in housing.”

“Main Street” Lab – now at Harmony Place

The Logic Laboratory, formally located on Main Street, recently move to Harmony Place in Brattleboro, VT. It’s a messy place that plays two roles. First, its a prototyping space to test products and pathways in real time. More importantly, it is a venue to do this work in full view of the community, and have conversations about housing.

“Opening our main street laboratory was the smartest thing we ever did, because every week a new collaborator sees the vision and walks through the door to find out how they can participate.” ~ Jason Van Nest

Working with Logic

We’re always eager to connect with talented individuals who share our passion for transforming the future of construction. As a startup that aims to scale fast, roles are still fluid, and forming. Roles may morph, but these core values will never change:

  • We’re systems thinkers who love removing friction and toil.
  • We’re passionate about standardizing complex things so we can make them better.
  • Big challenges excite us. We approach them with urgency, creativity, and…logic!
  • We’re technologists at heart and amplify our impact with software and data.
  • We measure progress with impact: on sustainability, affordability, & efficiency.

If you’re excited about joining a team that values innovation and building smarter, reach out — we’d love to hear from you!

Investing Logically

Today more then ever, the construction industry is clear on what it needs to speed innovation. Investors, developers, and builders are looking to de-risk the process of adopting industrialized construction processes. Logic’s unique partnership with the Center for Offsite Construction positions it to satisfy that need.
